Glinwell currently grows over 285 acres of crops across the UK and Spain and supplies Tesco finest* piccolo cherry tomatoes and finest* British baby plum tomatoes. We carefully manage everything from the selection of seed varieties, through every stage of the growing process, to deliver the tastiest tomatoes possible, packed with healthy goodness.
And from May 2015, children from schools across the South will have the opportunity to visit our Tom World site in Essex. Here they will learn about our state of the art production methods and how our tomatoes are supplied, grown, harvested, packaged and delivered to Tesco stores. They will discover more about the features we have put in place that help to minimise our impact on the environment, such as the 18,000m3 reservoir we have built to collect and recycle rainwater and the insects we use to control pests.
Tom World ‘Farm to Fork’ trips form part of the Tesco ‘Eat Happy’ Project which supplies resources, tools and learning opportunities to schools. We look forward to welcoming the children and sharing our passion for tomatoes.
